We’re hiring one person
A phone store that builds its own software.
We’re three people on Keele St. Over the past year we built our own website, our own till, and the system that runs the whole business — with AI, because there was no other way three people could have done it. Now we’re turning all of that toward sales, and we need one more person.

What three people built
Every job ad says it’s innovative. Here’s ours, so you can check instead of taking our word for it. Open any of these — they’re live, customers use them today, and they were all built here by a team of three people working with AI.
Bell price tracker →
Every phone Bell sells, with its price checked and recorded daily, so you can see whether today's deal is actually a deal. No other store around here has this.
Repair prices, published →
Most shops make you call for a repair quote. Ours are on the site, and they update themselves when our technician changes their price list.
Live plan comparison →
Bell's rate card, parsed and laid out next to the phones, so a customer can see the real monthly cost instead of a sticker price.
Members portal →
Customers upload their Bell contract and we read it back to them — what they're paying, when it ends, and what leaving early would cost.
Book a repair online →
A booking lands in a queue with a callback task attached to the day the customer asked for, so nobody falls through.
Sell us your phone →
Walk-in buybacks, quoted against live market prices rather than a guess.
And the two you can’t click, because they’re ours:
Our own till (point-of-sale)
We didn't buy one. Sales, repairs, inventory, shifts, cash counts, staff permissions — we built it, and you'd use it every shift.
Sales Hub
Where leads, commissions, partner stores, marketing and reporting all live. It's the business, on a screen.
You don’t need to know how any of it was made. Nobody here did either when we started. What we’re looking for is somebody who reads that list and thinks I want to know how they did that— because that’s the part we can teach, and the curiosity is the part we can’t.
The parts most ads leave out
We’d rather you know all of this now than find it out in week three.
It starts part-time.
3–4 shifts a week, 24–32 hours: Saturday (10–6) plus two or three weekday shifts (12–8). The application asks which days you can reliably work, and we build the schedule around that. You move to full-time hours once you're closing sales start to finish on your own. We assess that at your 90-day review, so you'll know where you stand on a date instead of wondering.
The pay is honest, not impressive.
$18–20 an hour plus commission on what you sell. We're not going to dress that up, and we're not going to quote you a monthly earnings figure we can't back up. What we can tell you is that the commission is real, it's on top of your hourly, and we'll go through the actual numbers with you at the interview.
Bell pays us about three months after a sale. You don't wait that long.
Your commission is paid the month after the sale. Like everywhere in this industry it's subject to clawback if the account gets cancelled or goes unpaid inside the carrier's window — we'll show you exactly how that works, in writing, before you start.
We're one store. That's the plan, not the ceiling.
The direction is more small stores, each one a hub for the independent phone and repair shops around it — they can't sell carrier plans, so they send us those customers. Growing that network is what this role builds toward. We haven't opened a second location yet, and we're not going to put a date on it.
This is not commission-only, and it's not remote.
It's an hourly job, in a store, on a schedule, with commission on top. If you're looking for set-your-own-hours sales, this isn't it.
You’d do well here if
- • You’ve sold something before — phones, electronics, retail, anything.
- • You pick things up fast. The product knowledge here changes weekly.
- • You’re comfortable on a computer. Half this job runs through software.
- • You can hold a conversation with a stranger.
- • You actually like phones.
It’s not for you if
- • You want a script for every situation.
- • You want leads handed to you and nothing else.
- • You’re after commission-only or remote work.
- • Clocking in and clocking out is the appeal.
The Nerd Check
Three questions, about thirty seconds. None of them are about phones, and you don’t need any experience to get them — they’re here because the kind of person who enjoys this is the kind of person who does well here. Get two right and the application opens up.
1. Everything in the list above — the price tracker, the till, the members portal — was built by a team of how many people?
2. You're asking an AI tool to write an Instagram caption for a used iPhone 13 you're selling at $429. Which of these gets you the most useful answer?
3. A customer has been looking at a phone for ten minutes. They say "I'll think about it" and start heading for the door. What's the best move?
Not in the mood for a quiz? — we’ll just know you skipped it, and it won’t rule you out.
